I wanted to start publishing online and my husband is an Internet professional so here we are.

Colophon

This site was made with love by William, my husband, in January 2021.

His goal was to produce a hand-coded, fast-loading site that is responsive, accessible, and easy to read. And easy for me to update. William says:

The Web in 2021 is unpleasant: So many pages are bloated, slow-loading, and stuffed with ads (unless they are the ad). Maintenance on the back end is overly complicated. Even "simple" Web publishing (think WordPress) is choked by awful templates and bloated code.

My husband made sure my site is WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliant and the site was made from scratch using HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap 4.x, and web fonts.

Together, we selected Baskerville for readability, mood, and style after browsing scores of excellent type options in Meggs' and Carter's Typographic Specimens and a few other typography texts. Colors were selected by us from Le Corbusier's color keyboards, after much deliberation and a process of elimination.

Design pioneers that influenced choices here include Jan Tschichold, Emil Ruder, Josef Müller-Brockman, and especially Max Bill.
